NCAA Game Summary - Army at Louisiana Tech

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - After a weather delay pushed the starting time back an hour, the Army Black Knights amassed 414 rushing yards as they ran past the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, 35-16, at the Cotton Bowl.
The Black Knights (2-3) ran the ball 77 times while recording just three pass attempts. Terry Baggett led the squad with 143 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, while Trenton Turrentine added 81 yards on 12 carries and Larry Dixon contributed 70 yards on 17 carries. Quarterback Angel Santiago logged 77 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and completed 1-of-3 passes for 16 yards.
Ryan Higgins led Louisiana Tech (1-4) by throwing for 320 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 20-of-36 passing. Kenneth Dixon had 71 yards and a score on 16 carries, while Andrew Guillot was the leading receiver with 123 yards and a touchdown on five catches.
Baggett rushed for two touchdowns in the first quarter, a nine-yarder and a 14-yarder, to give Army an early 14-0 lead.
Midway through the second quarter, Higgins connected with Andrew Guillot on a 29-yard touchdown for the Bulldogs, but Kyle Fischer's extra point attempt was no good, making the score 14-6.
With 59 seconds remaining in the half, Aaron Kemper rushed in a three-yard touchdown to cap off a 14-play, 90-yard drive for Army. Louisiana Tech was able to drive down field to set up a 31-yard field goal by Fischer as time expired in the first half.
The Black Knights stayed in control in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 10-play, 77-yard drive which resulted in a one-yard touchdown rush by Santiago. A seven-yard touchdown from Dixon midway through the third quarter would be the final points scored for Louisiana Tech. Army's Kelvin White managed a one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put an exclamation point on the victory.
Army's ability to run the ball allowed the it to control the game with nearly 40 minutes of possession.
The game was also delayed 45 minutes late in the first quarter due to weather.
