NCAA Game Summary - Central Michigan at NC State

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network)- Mike Glennon completed 20-of-36 passes for 244
yards and four touchdowns as NC State bested Central Michigan 38-24 at Carter-
Finley Stadium.
James Washington added 109 yards rushing and a touchdown for NC State (3-3),
and Jay Smith led the Wolfpack in receiving with five catches for 61 yards
with a score. The defense was led by linebacker Terrell Manning, who recorded
nine tackles, forced a fumble, recorded an interception and a sack. Sophomore
cornerback David Amerson recorded his fifth and sixth interceptions of the
season in the second half.
Ryan Radcliff led Central Michigan (2-4) by completing 19-of-32 passes for 245
yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted four times. Paris Cotton
delivered his second straight 100-yard rushing performance, gaining 158 yards
and a touchdown on 13 carries.
The Wolfpack struck first on their opening drive, as Glennon found George
Bryan for an 18-yard touchdown pass.
Central Michigan answered with a score on its first possession when Radcliff
completed a 17-yard scoring pass to Cody Wilson.
Glennon stayed hot on the next drive as he completed a 47-yard pass to T.J.
Graham early in the march before finding Jay Smith for a 12-yard touchdown
pass. Glennon's second touchdown pass of the day put NC State up 14-7 with
4:21 remaining in the first quarter.
The Wolfpack defense forced a three-and-out on the next drive, but John Carr
gave the Chippewas a second chance to tie the score when he recovered Graham's
muffed punt. One play later, Radcliff found Courtney Williams for a 23- yard
touchdown pass to tie the score at 14 with just under two minutes remaining in
the opening frame.
Central Michigan took its first lead in the second quarter when kicker David
Harman connected from 22 yards out to put the Chippewas up 17-14 with 10
minutes remaining in the first half.
Glennon took NC State right back down the field on the next drive, and topped
it off with a two-yard touchdown pass to Steven Howard to give the Wolfpack a
21-17 halftime lead.
Manning intercepted Radcliff three plays into the second half, and Glennon
cashed in by completing another touchdown pass, this time to Tobias Palmer
from 10 yards out to push the Wolfpack lead to 28-17 less than three minutes
into the third quarter.
In the fourth, NC State put the Chippewas in a hole when James Washington
scored on a two-yard run that padded the Wolfpack's commanding lead. Niklas
Sade added a 45-yard field goal to push NC State's lead to 38-17 with 8:37
remaining.
Paris Cotton gave the Chippewas some hope on the ensuing kickoff, dashing 77-
yards for a score that cut the NC State lead to 38-24 with 8:18 remaining.
Central Michigan then recovered an onside kick and drove deep into Wolfpack
territory before Amerson picked off Radcliff to end the Central Michigan
threat.
Central Michigan recorded five turnovers, while NC State committed just one.
