Final Score: Cincinnati 44, North Carolina State 14

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Zach Collaros threw for 263 yards and a pair of scores and rushed for two touchdowns in Cincinnati's 44-14 blowout of North Carolina State.

Isaiah Pead gained 167 yards on 27 carries and scored once for the Bearcats (3-1), who have beaten Akron and the Wolfpack after bouncing back from a loss at Tennessee.

Last year was the first matchup between the two schools, with the Wolfpack claiming a 30-19 victory in Raleigh.

"I don't know if you want to say revenge. We were really disappointed in the way we played last year," Cincinnati coach Butch Jones said. "They dominated us in all three phases, it wasn't even close. The thing is they really dominated us in the physicality of things and we take great pride in being a physical football program. That has kind of been a rallying cry. I thought our kids took great pride in being a tough football team tonight and we need to progress in that area."

Mike Glennon went 25-of-36 passing for 334 yards with a pair of TDs and two interceptions for the Wolfpack (2-2), who fell behind 21-0 early in the second and never recovered. NC State was held to minus-26 rushing yards, but T.J. Graham caught seven balls for 176 yards and a pair of scores.

It was the third-lowest rushing total for a Cincinnati opponent in school history and the fewest since allowing minus-37 yards to Wichita State in 1974.

"Defensively we need to change the whole concept now," NC State coach Tom O'Brien said. "I think two things stand out tonight: we have to contain the quarterback on defense which would solve a lot of problems and we do not protect the quarterback well enough to consistently throw the ball. When we are behind we have to throw the ball. I know it's tough. They know we're throwing, they are going to be coming but we still have to do a better job than we did."

Pead scored on a two-yard run with 8:39 left in the opening quarter, a short time after Glennon was picked off by Drew Frey.

Collaros, who finished 25-of-34 through the air with one interception and 52 rushing yards, scored on a 13-yard scramble with 4:07 to go in the first quarter.

Glennon was intercepted at the Cincinnati 18 in the final minute of the first, and the Bearcats converted that into seven more point, on a Collaros 10-yard run.

Graham caught an 87-yard TD pass in the second, but Tony Miliano kicked a 26- yard field goal with 66 seconds left in the half and was true from 48 yards out early in the third for a 27-7 margin.

Collaros connected with Pead on a 25-yard scoring pass later in the third before Graham broke loose on a 49-yard TD connection.

Kenbrell Thompkins caught a four-yard touchdown pass for the Bearcats with 1:26 to go in the third and Miliano capped the scoring with a 22-yard field goal midway through the fourth.
