tying field goal as time expired to lift USC to a 23-14 win over Utah in Pac-12
USC cornerback Torin Harris picked up the blocked kick and returned it for a

turned in a fine defensive performance against Utah (1-1, 0-1).
Quarterback Matt Barkley completed 20-of-32 passes for 264 yards and one
touchdown, and running back Marc Tyler rushed for 113 yards and another
touchdown. Receiver Robert Woods caught eight balls for 102 yards to help pace
a Trojans offense that gained 415 yards of total offense.
Quarterback Jordan Wynn finished with 238 yards and a touchdown on 23-of-46
passing for the Utes, who were playing in their first Pac-12 conference game
since migrating from the Mountain West Conference in the offseason. Receiver
Davonte Christoper had 11 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown for Utah.
USC built a 10-0 lead in the first quarter courtesy of Andre Heidari's 47-yard
field goal and a six yard touchdown run by Tyler with 1:58 left in the first

first half, which cut the Trojan lead to 10-7. Barkley engineered a seven-play,
88-yard drive that culminated in a nine yard touchdown pass from Barkley to

Utah running back John White scored a one yard rushing touchdown with 6:24 to
play in the third quarter to make it 17-14. Utah got the ball back with just
over a minute left in the game and proceeded to drive 43 yards in seven plays,
setting up the potential tying field goal.
However, Kalil's heroics sent USC to a 2-0 start on the year.
