NCAA Game Summary - Nevada at B-Y-U

Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Colin Kaepernick threw for a score and ran for another, as the Nevada Wolf Pack topped the BYU Cougars, 27-13, in a non- conference showdown at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.

Kaepernick threw for 196 yards on 16-of-25 pass attempts, while rushing for 82 yards on 17 carries. Vai Taua led Nevada (4-0) with 133 rushing yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Jake Heaps passed for 229 yards on 24-of-43 tosses for BYU (1-3), which has dropped three games in a row for the first time since 2005-06. JJ Di Luigi went for 67 yards on 15 carries and scored the team's lone touchdown in the setback.

Nevada grabbed a lead five minutes into the game, as Kaepernick threw a six- yard touchdown pass to Courtney Randall to cap a nine-play, 84-yard drive.

BYU responded just minutes later behind a two-yard touchdown run from Di Luigi.

The Wolf Pack regained the lead late in the opening half, when Taua plunged one-yard for a score.

Kaepernick scurried four yards to paydirt midway through the second quarter, giving Nevada a 21-7 advantage.

The two teams traded field goals just before the half, as the Wolf Pack went into the break with a 24-10 lead.

After a scoreless third quarter, the teams once again swapped field goals and Nevada would go on for the 27-13 victory.

The Wolf Pack rushed for 239 yards as a team, helping them posses the ball for over 36 minutes of the game.
