NCAA Game Summary - Memphis at Louisville

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - Adam Froman threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Louisville Cardinals to a 56-0 victory over the Memphis Tigers in a non-conference matchup at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Josh Bellamy, who hauled in two of Froman's touchdown passes, finished with 112 yards on six receptions. Bilal Powell was dominating in the win, rushing for 204 yards and two touchdowns for Louisville (3-2), which has won two straight contests.

As for Memphis (1-5), the team was led by Ryan Williams who threw for just 174 yards on 15-of-27 passing. Williams also threw an interception in the setback and was sacked four times.

It took almost the entire first quarter, but the Cardinals eventually broke the scoreless tie with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Froman to Cameron Graham.

Louisville broke the game wide open in the second quarter, scoring four touchdowns, beginning with a 48-yard scoring strike from Froman to Josh Chichester just seconds into the stanza.

Froman pushed Louisville's lead to 21-0 when he connected with Bellamy for a four-yard touchdown.

Midway through the quarter Powell broke free on a 74-yard touchdown scamper, extending the team's advantage to 28-0.

Less than two minutes later Froman and Bellamy hooked up again, this time the pass and catch went for a 28-yard score.

The Cardinals continued their dominance when the two teams return to the field after halftime, as Powell found the end zone on a 10-yard run.

With the game well in hand the reserves saw playing time, but even the back ups for Louisville had success against Memphis, as Justin Burke pushed the team's lead to 49-0 with a four-yard touchdown pass to Andrell Smith.

Jeremy Wright's 28-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter was the final score on the game, as the Cardinals routed Memphis, 56-0.

It was the first time since 1999 that the Tigers were held scoreless in a matchup.
