Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Geno Smith threw for four first-half touchdowns as the West Virginia Mountaineers rolled over the Cincinnati Bearcats, 37-10, in a Big East conference matchup at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Smith was 15-of-25 through the air for the Mountaineers (6-3, 2-2 Big East) for 174 yards and one interception in addition to his four scores. Jock Sanders caught six balls for 95 yards and two scores and Tavon Austin turned his two receptions into a pair of TDs to help West Virginia end a two-game losing streak. Noel Devine carried 18 times for 77 yards and a touchdown, while Shawne Alston added 75 yards on 17 carries.

Zach Collaros was 25-of-45 through the air for 221 yards for the Bearcats (3-6, 1-3), but he was also sacked five times and tossed a couple of picks as the team lost its third straight. Armon Binns caught 10 balls for 115 yards, while Isaiah Pead ran for 78 yards and a score on eight carries in the setback.

Smith got West Virginia on the board with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Austin barely a minute into the first frame. The two connected again on a 10-yard throw to make it 14-0 at the 4:14 mark of the quarter, Smith hit Sanders with a 48-yard touchdown pass to put the Mountaineers up 21-0 with 8:56 left in the first half. He found Sanders again on a five-yard touchdown throw at the 6:58 mark.

West Virginia added to its lead with 1:50 left in the half when Collaros was called for intentional grounding in the end zone, resulting in a safety.

The Bearcats picked up their first points when Jake Rogers booted a 49-yard field goal on the final play of the half, but the visitors still trailed by a whopping 30-3 at the break.

Cincinnati picked up its first touchdown with 13:19 remaining in the third quarter, when Pead raced 53 yards into the end zone.

WVU responded minutes later when Devine crossed the goal line from 13 yards out to make the score 37-10.

West Virginia accumulated 419 yards in total offense, 245 of them on the ground. Cincinnati was 0-of-12 on third-down conversions. The Bearcats also hurt their cause with 10 penalties for 96 yards.
