NCAA Game Summary - U-C-F at Kansas State

Manhattan, KS (Sports Network) - Carson Coffman's seven-yard touchdown run in the final minute of regulation gave the Kansas State Wildcats a 17-13 victory over the UCF Knights in a non-league tussle at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Coffman finished the day with 189 passing yards and one touchdown for Kansas State (4-0), while Daniel Thomas led the ground game with 76 yards on 22 carries.

Ronnie Weaver led the way for UCF (2-2), rushing for 130 yards and one touchdown in the loss. Jeffrey Godfrey had a tough showing under center, completing just 8-of-18 passes for a meager 92 yards, and was also intercepted twice.

The Knights struck first in this matchup, as Weaver rumbled into the end zone on an eight-yard run.

Both teams were not able to crack the scoreboard in the second quarter, leaving the Knights with a 7-0 edge at the break.

The Wildcats finally posted points late in the third frame when Josh Cherry connected on a 27-yard field goal.

The Knights added a field goal of their own early in the final frame when Nick Cattoi connected on a 31-yard kick.

Less than two minutes later the Wildcats evened the score at 10 apiece when Coffman hit Aubrey Quarles with a 58-yard scoring strike.

UCF regained the lead with just over five minutes remaining in the contest thanks to a 27-yard field goal by Cattoi.

Kansas State's best drive of the contest was its last, as the offense marched 67 yards on 13 plays. The drive lead to the touchdown run by Coffman, which kept the Wildcats flawless on the year.
