Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Harvey Unga rushed for 113 yards and three scores
as 19th-ranked BYU beat Colorado State, 42-23, at LaVell Edwards Stadium in
the Mountain West Conference opener for each team.
Max Hall completed 18-of-29 passes for 241 yards with a pair of touchdowns and
two interceptions for the Cougars, who stopped the Rams' winning streak at six
going back to last season.
The Cougars (3-1, 1-0 MWC) scored 21 points in the first quarter with
the help of two interceptions and a blocked punt.
Grant Stucker connected on 30-of-50 passes for 372 yards with two TDs and a
pair of interceptions for the Rams (3-1, 0-1). Tyson Liggett caught 11 passes
for 156 yards and a TD.

The Rams got on the board in the second quarter with a three-yard pass from
Stucker to Dion Morton with 9:56 to the half.
The first half ended with the Cougars leading 21-7.
BYU found the end zone with 6:56 left in the third quarter when Hall hit
Dennis Pitta with an 18-yard pass to make the score 28-7.
Colorado State's Leonard Mason capped off a 64-yard drive with a five-yard
touchdown run to make the score 28-14 with 2:51 remaining in the third
The quarter closed with the Rams in possession after a Michael Kawulok
interception of a Hall pass. Less than a minute into the final 15 minutes,

to increase the BYU lead to 42-23 with 4:05 left.
BYU owns a 38-27-3 edge versus the Rams in the all-time series. The Cougars
have won 13 straight home conference games.
