NCAA Game Summary - Oregon State at Arizona State

Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Sean Canfield threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns as the Oregon State Beavers defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils, 28-17, in Pac-10 action at Sun Devil Stadium.

Jacquizz Rodgers led the ground attack for Oregon State (3-2, 1-1 Pac-10), rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. His older brother James also had a solid game, hauling in 10 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown.

As for the Sun Devils (2-2, 0-1), they were paced by Danny Sullivan, who threw for 338 yards and one touchdown in the loss. Chris McGaha hauled in 15 receptions for 165 yards, while Dimitri Nance led the rushing attack with 48 yards and one touchdown on just 2.7 yards per attempt.

Jacquizz Rodgers put the Beavers up 14-0 early in the first quarter, as the sensational tailback scored on runs of one and 32 yards.

The Sun Devils were able to get on the scoreboard with just over four minutes remaining in the opening frame thanks to a 35-yard field goal by Bobby Wenzig.

Seconds into the second quarter Canfield connected the older Rodgers brother, as James hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass.

The Sun Devils chipped at their deficit early in the third quarter when Nance plunged into the endzone on a one-yard run.

Oregon State pulled further away from Arizona State midway through the fourth quarter when Canfield hit Damola Adeniji with a two-yard touchdown pass, giving the Beavers an 18-point edge.

Sullivan found Kyle Williams for a 12-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds of regulation, but it was far too late for Arizona State, as the Beavers were able to hold on for the 11-point win.
