Description: Dallas QB Kyle Orton continues to look like the starter for the Cowboys in Week 17 against Philadelphia.
Insight: Orton took all the first-team reps and Romo has missed practice, team meetings and the game-plan session, according to Ed Werder. Dallas has not made an official announcement and figures to try and keep the decision under wraps, but fantasy owners should expect Orton will be out there on game day.

Description: Reports out of Dallas have the Cowboys signing QB Kyle Orton to a three-year deal.
Insight: Orton probably could have found a gig where he'd have a better shot at starting, but apparently like what he saw in his first visit since free agency began. As long as Tony Romo is healthy, Orton isn't likely to have much fantasy value except as handcuff insurance.

11/23/2011 6:04:00 PM
Description: The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free-agent QB Kyle Orton.
Insight: It was pretty obvious the Chiefs weren't going to make the playoffs with Tyler Palko at the helm, so in a division that's still winnable, this move makes sense. Orton is a veteran with a live arm that gives you a better chance to win immediately. He has good weapons at his disposal (Bowe, Breaston, Baldwin) and could be a decent QB2 option.

11/22/2011 5:50:00 PM
Description: The Denver Broncos waived QB Kyle Orton.
Insight: There are three teams (Houston, Chicago and Kansas City) that are in need of quarterbacks right now... but the team that takes a chance on him will also have to pick up the $2.5 million remaining on his contract. Orton has played in Chicago so that might be a natural fit.

9/13/2011 3:17:00 AM
Description: Broncos QB Kyle Orton was repeatedly booed in the second half of Monday night's 23-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders.
Insight: Orton completed 24-of-46 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown and one interception and added a 13-yard scramble. As it became evident the Broncos were probably not going to win the game, the crowd began to boo and chanted "we want Tebow, we want Tebow."

Description: Broncos HC John Fox has officially announced that Kyle Orton is the team's starting quarterback for Opening Day. SOURCE: CBS DENVER
Insight: Apparently it was never really a competition. Orton was clearly John Fox's favorite from the beginning, and he didn't do anything in pre-season to lose that job. He finished last season with 498 pass attempts in 13 starts, good for an average of over 38 per game. With Denver expected to run the ball a lot more under Fox, Orton's pass attempts will likely go down, making him more of a low-end QB2 in most leagues.

Description: QB Kyle Orton arrived at the Broncos facility Wednesday morning, just hours before the team's first scheduled team meeting. SOURCE: CBS SPORTS
Insight: Orton has been the subject of much trade speculation but with Seattle, Minnesota and Tennesee getting veteran QBs, Orton may have to settle for an open competition with Tim Tebow rather than being an unquestioned No. 1 in Denver or elsewhere.

7/26/2011 11:02:00 AM
Description: The Denver Broncos opened their doors this morning, and the first player through the doors was QB Tim Tebow. That could be partially because he knows he's going to be the starter after news broke today that the Broncos are listening to offers for QB Kyle Orton.
Insight: ESPN reported this early this morning. Adam Schefter said the doors opened at Broncos headquarters at 8:00 am and Tebow walked through the doors at 8:01. There's little doubt Orton will be moved (if the price is right) as John Fox has made it pretty clear that he likes Tebow and wants him to be his QB.

Description: Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton will likely be traded in exchange for a conditional draft pick along with a veteran player. SOURCE: DENVER POST
Insight: Paige believes that the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, or the Tennessee Titans might be interested in making a deal for Orton. Before the Broncos jump the gun and trade Orton, they will likely want to see if second year quarterback Tim Tebow can make the drop backs from under center that head coach John Fox is looking for.

Description: Jason LaCanfora, from NFL.com, feels the Broncos will only consider getting rid of QB Kyle Orton if they are approached by a team willing to give up a second-round pick. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: The biggest problem with Orton is that he has only one year left on his contract, and they won't get anything for him if they keep him around this year. By trading him to Minnesota or Arizona, they would at least get a second- or third-round draft pick. For now, expect Orton and Tim Tebow to battle for the starting job in Denver.

5/23/2011 11:57:00 AM
Description: The Vikings are rumored to have Broncos QB Kyle Orton on their radar as a potential veteran complement to rookie QB Christian Ponder. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: We don't know how much this will come true after it's was reported that the Broncos aren't going to settle for anything less than a second-round pick. A high pick like that for a player who would essentially be Ponder's backup is a bit too rich. The Vikings need a "Ken Dorsey" type veteran instead.

Description: The Cardinals reportedly have "some" interest in Broncos QB Kyle Orton. SOURCE: ARIZONA REPUBLIC
Insight: Kevin Kolb still remains a priority, with Orton being viewed as a temporary solution. It's looking like Arizona will make Marc Bulger a worst-case scenario if they can't land someone younger. Orton's arm would benefit Larry Fitzgerald more than Kolb, who isn't known for having a strong arm.

Description: The Cardinals have reportedly had "preliminary contact" with the Broncos regarding the availability of QB Kyle Orton. SOURCE: 3TV NEWS PHOENIX
Insight: Even though the lockout is still ongoing, teams are allowed to discuss trades, just not make them. With the recent news that John Elway is now very high on Tim Tebow, trading Orton makes sense. It sounds like an Orton-to-Arizona trade will be a fallback plan if the team can't land Eagles QB Kevin Kolb.

2/24/2011 2:27:00 PM
Description: Broncos QB Kyle Orton is the team's starting quarterback "right now." SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: This is what John Fox told reporters at the Combine Thursday, leaving himself some wiggle room if plans changed. Fox also said he's "interested to see how (Tim Tebow) looks" to. But if there is no trading this year, we expect Orton to be under center Week One.

2/24/2011 12:04:00 PM
Description: Fox reiterated at Thursday's Draft Combine press conferences that Orton is Denver's starting quarterback.
Insight: Here's the quote: ?As far as I?m concerned, he?s under contract and he?s the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.? Not exactly a ringing endorsement, especially in light of other recent reports stating that Orton hasn't had much contact from the team. This situation is far from clear at this early stage. (RapidDraft.com)

2/23/2011 9:01:00 PM
Description: NFL.com's Michael Fabiano relays that new Broncos VP of football operations John Elway has said that Orton remains the starter.
Insight: There have been plenty of rumors of the Broncos potentially trading Orton as well, so we'll have to wait to see how much truth resides in anything. At this stage, though, there's at least reason for any fantasy folks excited about Tim Tebow to get themselves under control. (RapidDraft.com)

2/8/2011 3:05:00 PM
Description: Kyle Orton is scheduled to receive nearly $9 million in 2011 salary and bonuses.
Insight: While Orton clearly earned the bonus he is scheduled to receive, it's hard to believe Denver would bring him back if the team decides to move forward with Tim Tebow at the helm. Look for Orton to be moved once the CBA dispute is settled. (RapidDraft.com)

2/2/2011 4:12:00 PM
Description: According to Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway, QB Kyle Orton would be the team's starter if the season began today. SOURCE: DENVER POST
Insight: "It's not a foregone conclusion we're going to trade Kyle at all. We still have to evaluate that part. I think a lot of people think it's automatic. It's not." Orton might be in the team's plans right now, but he will be easily trade-able if a team offers a second-round pick.

1/17/2011 4:05:00 PM
Description: The Cardinals could target Broncos QB Kyle Orton this offseason. SOURCE: CBS SPORTS
Insight: There is belief that the Cardinals would give up a second-round pick the Broncos are looking for, but it all depends on if they feel Orton can be the future at the position. Orton is versatile, having had some success in Chicago, before being shipped to Denver as part of the Jay Cutler trade. Marc Bulger, entering free agency, would be a cheaper option.

1/4/2011 3:04:00 PM
Description: The Denver Post considers Kyle Orton "likely" to be traded this offseason, and reports that the Broncos will ask for a second-round pick in return.
Insight: This is a strong indication that the team feels comfortable moving forward with Tim Tebow as the future at QB. There will be plenty of options for Orton. (RapidDraft.com)
