Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles is closing in on a full recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon, according to mlive.com.
Insight: Broyles suffered a catastophic injury in each of the last three years -- two ACL tears and a ruptured Achilles. He didn't see many targets when he was active last season, even when Nate Burleson was out with a fractured arm. Burleson signed with the Cleveland Browns, but Detroit inked Golden Tate to a big contract and drafted tight end Eric Ebron 10th overall. While his recovery is a good story, Broyles won't have any fantasy value this year.

Description: The Lions confirmed Monday that Ryan Broyles will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured Achilles' tendon.
Insight: Broyles has now suffered three catastophic injuries in the last two calendar years -- two ACL tears and a ruptured Achilles. Broyles was expected to step up as the team's No. 2 wideout following the injury to Nate Burleson, but it was Kris Durham who ended up becoming a secondary target for Matthew Stafford. Durham will continue to serve that role until Burleson returns later this season.

Description: Detroit wideout Ryan Broyles looks to have suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon Sunday against the Cowboys. SOURCE: Tim Twentyman, Lions.com
Insight: There are more tests coming but all indications are that Broyles' season is over. Broyles had sleeper potential heading into the year but this injury is going to be pretty difficult to come back from.

9/24/2013 6:26:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles said he's ready for an increased role in the offense, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.
Insight: Broyles, who made his 2013 debut in Week 3 after recovering from a torn ACL, will be the No. 2 receiver in the Lions' offense going forward after Nate Burleson broke his arm in a car accident Monday night. He should be added in all leagues.

9/22/2013 11:12:00 AM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles (knee) will be active for the first time this season Sunday against the Redskins, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Insight: Pat Edwards is out with an ankle injury, so Broyles is active for the first time since tearing his ACL last year. Although he has a great matchup against the Redskins, fantasy owners should hold off on playing him because it is unclear how many snaps he'll see Sunday. He should eventually become the Lions' No. 2 receiver.

9/17/2013 1:20:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles could play this Sunday against Washington.
Insight: Broyles suffered a torn left ACL in college and then he tore his other ACL last season. When healthy he's got a chance to be the No. 2 guy opposite Calvin Johnson, but he's not there yet.

9/8/2013 11:37:00 AM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles won't play Sunday against the Vikings, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Insight: Broyles suffered a torn left ACL in college and then he tore his other ACL last season. Fantasy owners should still hold onto him, as he's likely to be a heavily targeted receiver in Detroit's pass-first offense when healthy.

8/14/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles, recovering from a torn ACL, is now sitting every third practice as preventive maintenence, according to detroitlions.com.
Insight: Broyles was just starting to show fantasy value when the injury ended his 2012-13 season, and he should eventually be Detroit's No. 2 receiver in a pass-happy offense. This update, however, should give fantasy owners second thoughts about selecting him too high.

6/15/2013 9:38:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles, recovering from a torn ACL, fully participated in all three days of minicamp this week, according to the Detroit Free Press/
Insight: The receiver tore his ACL on Dec. 2 last season, and he's amazingly expected to avoid the PUP list to open training camp. Broyles was just starting to show fantasy value when the injury ended his season, and he should be Detroit's No. 2 receiver in a pass-happy offense this season.

6/11/2013 2:45:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles, recovering from a torn ACL, took part in team drills on Tuesday, according to the team's site.
Insight: The receiver tore his ACL on Dec. 2 last season, so he's more likely to be starting the season un the PUP list, but Adrian Peterson and Robert Griffin III are proving that it's not impossible to be ready for Week 1. Broyles was just starting to show fantasy value when the injury ended his season.

5/30/2013 3:11:00 PM
Description: Lions coach Jim Schwartz said that receiver Ryan Broyles (knee) is "making good progress" in his recovery from a torn ACL, according to the Detroit News.
Insight: Broyles has no target date to return to practice. The receiver tore his ACL on Dec. 2 last season, so he'll probably be out a few more months. Once he returns, he'll be the No. 2 receiver across from Calvin Johnson and will have sleeper fantasy value.

12/7/2012 1:59:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles, who was diagnosed with a torn right ACL, has already had surgery on the knee and the speed at which this took place will give him the best chance to return next season in a timely manner.
Insight: Broyles was just starting to perform as the starter opposite Calvin Johnson and if he can come back healthy he has the talent to be a very good No. 2 receiver.

12/3/2012 2:55:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL and is finished for the season.
Insight: Tough break for fantasy owners who were ready to watch Broyles perform as the starter opposite Calvin Johnson. Coach Jim Schwartz made it a point to note that Titus Young would not get his job back. Expect Mike Thomas to start.

12/2/2012 1:43:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles left Sunday's game against Indianapolis with an apparent right knee injury. He walked to the locker room without a noticeable limp. His return is questionable.
Insight: Broyles, who caught six balls for 126 yards in his last game, was primed for a big game with Titus Young and Brian Robiskie inactive.

11/22/2012 4:56:00 PM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles saw 11 targets opposite Calvin Johnson Thursday and managed to haul in six of them for 126 yards.
Insight: We expected Johnson to get a ton of targets with Johnathan Joseph out. That happened, but there were still plenty left over for Broyles and Brandon Pettigrew (15 targets, eight receptions, 74 yards) as Detroit threw the ball 61 times. Broyles will likely maintain his status as the No. 2 receiver even when Titus Young is activated.

11/22/2012 11:39:00 AM
Description: Lions receiver Ryan Broyles will start Thursday's game versus Houston with Titus Young inactive due to a team-mandated suspension.
Insight: Mike Thomas was expected to start opposite Calvin Johnson but Broyles will get the nod instead. The rookie is still a risky fantasy play since Johnson will likely see a ton of targets with Houston CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) inactive.

11/4/2012 12:14:00 PM
Description: Lions second-round selection Ryan Broyles could see more targets if Calvin Johnson is hurting.
Insight: Titus Young and Broyles have both seen an uptick in production since Nate Burleson's season-ending injury. Young exploded last weekend, but this week both could see more targets if the Lions choose to use Megatron as more of a decoy to protect him.

10/23/2012 9:48:00 AM
Description: Lions second-round selection Ryan Broyles made his first contributions of the season for Detroit, catching three balls for 51 yards and a score. They were his first catches of the season after rehabing from an ACL injury he suffered last November at Oklahoma.
Insight: Titus Young and Broyles will both see plenty of opportunities with Burleson gone for the season due to a broken leg. Broyles was certainly the better of the two Monday night.

5/13/2012 3:25:00 PM
Description: Lions second-round selection Ryan Broyles out of Oklahoma will have to overcome numerous roadblocks to become a viable fantasy asset in his rookie season. Broyles will miss offseason OTAs due to a knee injury and could even start the season on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
Insight: Once on the field he'll have to steal targets from Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson, Titus Young and Brandon Pettigrew which won't be easy. We'll reserve our final judgement, but for now we list Broyles as a project and not a first-year fantasy star.
