Three Lions among CFL's best
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Three British Columbia Lions were among the four players chosen as the Canadian Football League's top players for Week 12.
Quarterback Travis Lulay, kick returner Tim Brown and slotback Shawn Gore of the Lions, as well as Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive back Brock Campbell, were all chosen for honors based on solid individual play during victories by their teams last week.
Lulay earned Offensive Player of the Week by going 24-of-40 for 390 yards and two touchdowns, as well running for 42 yards, in the Lions' 28-23 win over the Toronto Argonauts.
Lulay's first touchdown pass of the game moved him to second place in the CFL record books, for the feat of throwing at least one touchdown in 22 consecutive games. He trails only Hall of Fame quarterback Sam Etcheverry, who threw a touchdown pass in 34 consecutive games.
Brown earned the recognition of Special Teams Player of the Week for his 151 total return yards in the victory, compiling 77 yards on three kick returns, 52 yards on five punt returns and 22 yards on one missed field goal.
And defensive honors went to Campbell for his role in the Tiger-Cats' 51-8 rout of the Edmonton Eskimos, when he registered seven tackles and a sack.
A third Lion, Gore, was named Canadian Player of the Week, for compiling 96 yards and a touchdown on three receptions versus the Argonauts.
