Texas Tech blanks College of Charleston to reach Omaha

Lubbock, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Two runs was all the Texas Tech Red Raiders needed to win two games in the Super Regionals and punch their ticket to Omaha.

Adam Kirsch drove in the Raiders' lone run Sunday to back another strong pitching performance as they defeated College of Charleston by a 1-0 count for the second straight day to reach the College World Series.

Dylan Regional picked up the win after going five-plus innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, and Jonny Drozd pitched the final two innings to record his second save in as many days.

Bailey Ober took the tough-luck loss, hurling eight strong innings and yielding one run on six hits.

The Cougars had five hits and managed just nine in the series.

Tyler Neslony opened the fourth inning with a single and Kirsch brought him home two batters later with a double to right.

Charleston got its first two batters on in the home half of the sixth, but Cameron Smith induced a lineout and struck out the final two hitters to get out of the jam.

Ryan Welke moved Alex Pastorius, who singled to open the seventh, over to second with a bunt, but Domonic Moreno came on to get the final two outs of the inning and Drozd pitch a pair of perfect frames to secure the win.
