NOTES:
The inaugural running of the Formula One-sanctioned Russian Grand Prix at the newly-built Sochi Autodrom is the 16th round on the 2014 F1 calendar.

Sochi Autodrom, which was previously known as Sochi International Street Circuit and Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a racing street circuit in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Sochi hosted the XXII Olympic Winter Games in February.

Sochi Autodrom consists of two circuits layouts - the full length grand prix circuit, winding its way through Sochi Olympic Park among the Olympic venues and used for hosting F1 races, and the shorter, permanent circuit, used all year round for track days and other events.

Sochi is the third-longest circuit on the current F1 calendar, behind Spa- Francorchamps in Belgium and Silverstone in Great Britain.

In the past, the Russian GP was run twice, in 1913 and '14, in St. Petersburg. Nevertheless, the race had to be abandoned because of World War I and then the Russian Civil War. It had never been restored. Russian Georgy Suvorin won the inaugural race in '13, and German Willy Scholl claimed victory the following year.

Round 17 in this year's F1 world championship is the Nov. 2 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull is the defending race winner.
