Jets name Simmons assistant GM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Jets named Larry Simmons their assistant general manager on Thursday. Simmons, who has been employed by the Thrashers/Jets franchise since 1999, spent last season as assistant to general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff.
