Description: Champ Bailey's ten-year tenure with Denver ended on Thursday when the Broncos released him. SOURCE: USA Today
Insight: The move saves Denver $10 million that they can now spend on a top-tier free agent. Bailey has told teams he's willing to move to safety despite playing cornerback for the last 15 seasons. Regardless of how this plays out, Bailey should be a Hall of Famer when his career is over.

1/20/2014 1:43:00 PM
Description: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey (foot) came up big just when the team needed him, playing almost every snap on defense.
Insight: Facing Tom Brady and without starter Chris Harris could have been a problem, but Bailey and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie played well in holding the Pats passing game in check. Bailey appears to have come out of the game healthy and will have two weeks to rest up for his first Super Bowl.

12/1/2013 3:20:00 PM
Description: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey (sore foot), will be active for the game with Kansas City.
Insight: Injuries have limited Bailey to just two games this season. Bailey may see plenty of playing time with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie inactive due to a sore shoulder.

11/24/2013 7:23:00 PM
Description: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is out again with a sore foot.
Insight: Injuries have limited Bailey to just two games this season. Chris Harris will get the start at left corner Sunday against New England.

10/27/2013 12:02:00 PM
Description: Denver cornerback Champ Bailey (foot) is a no-go for Sunday's game against the Redskins.
Insight: He's hoping to be back in two weeks. Without Bailey, it's going to be very difficult for the Broncos to contain Robert Griffin III in the passing game. Denver's D/ST is not a recommended fantasy play in Week 8.

10/11/2013 3:16:00 PM
Description: Denver All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey is expected to make his season debut Sunday against Jacksonville, according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today.
Insight: The Broncos probably won't need him to beat the Jaguars, but it would be good to get him back on the field as Denver has yielded a league-high 1,735 yards passing. Expect that he'll be on a play count for the first couple weeks back.

10/9/2013 4:22:00 PM
Description: Denver All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey was a full participant in practice for the first time since his preseason foot injury.
Insight: Bailey could play against Jacksonville, though the Broncos probably won't need him. Expect that he'll be on a play count for the first couple weeks back.

10/6/2013 11:28:00 AM
Description: Looks like another week ithout Denver All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey.
Insight: Ed Werder is reporting that Bailey will miss his fifth consecutive game. Considering the team hasn't lost yet and has barely been challenged in the first four games, they can afford to let Bailey sit for as long as it takes.

9/29/2013 3:15:00 PM
Description: Denver All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey will miss another game.
Insight: Bailey has now missed all four games with a sprained foot. He returned to practice this week and the team would have liked him to cover DeSean Jackson, but that apparently won't happen.

9/23/2013 8:09:00 PM
Description: Denver cornerback Champ Bailey won't be on the field Monday against Oakland.
Insight: Bailey has now missed three games with a sprained foot. He returned to practice this week so he should have a chance to play Week 4 against Philadelphia.

9/13/2013 3:03:00 PM
Description: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey has been ruled out for Week 2.
Insight: Bailey sat out Week 1 with a sprained foot, but facing Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz they could have used him. The Broncos will start Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Tony Carter at the two cornerback slots.

9/6/2013 7:28:00 PM
Description: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey should be back for Week 2. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: If Denver can put up 49 points every night like they did Thursday, they won't even need a defense this year. Bailey sat out last night's game with a sprained foot.

9/5/2013 10:42:00 AM
Description: Denver cornerback Champ Bailey (foot sprain) will not play in the season opener against Baltimore.
Insight: The loss of Bailey along with Von Miller (susp) and Elvis Dumervil (free agency) leaves the Denver defense much more vulnerable than a year ago.

8/18/2013 5:23:00 PM
Description: Denver cornerback Champ Bailey has a serious foot sprain that could take several weeks to heal, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Things are looking down for Denver's defense. After losing Elvis Dumervil to the Ravens, the team could potentially start the season without Von Miller (suspended), Bailey and projected defensive end starter Derek Wolfe (spine).

8/18/2013 9:47:00 AM
Description: Denver cornerback Champ Bailey was seen walking on crutches after last night's game against the Seahawks. SOURCE: Denver Post
Insight: He injured his left foot in the second quarter. X-rays ruled out a fracture though Bailey still hasn't had an MRI. After that happens, we should know more about his recovery time.

2/23/2011 11:07:00 AM
Description: The Broncos and DB Champ Bailey have agreed to a four-year, $43 million extension. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Elway threw a bit more guaranteed money ($22 million) in the deal, which may have caused Bailey's "I want to play for a contender" decision to change. Bailey also said that chances of a lockout was a big reason he decided to re-sign while he had the chance.

2/17/2011 2:30:00 PM
Description: According to Broncos Executive VP John Elway, getting free agent DB Champ Bailey re-signed is an "important priority." SOURCE: DENVERBRONCOS.COM
Insight: 'We've been working with Champ Bailey's representative this week on a new contract, which is an important priority for us.' Bailey put his Denver house up for sale, but that may have been a tactic on his part to get talks rolling. It's looking like there actually is a chance Bailey will be a Bronco in 2011.

2/16/2011 5:41:00 PM
Description: Despite earlier reports that the Broncos and free agent DB Champ Bailey had restarted contract talks, it's now being reported that Bailey has put his Colorado home up for sale. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Looks like the only way Bailey stays in Denver is if the team uses the franchise tag, which we don't see them doing. The 32-year-old still has plenty of gas left, but the Broncos are expected to move towards youth. Expect plenty of suitors once Bailey hits the market.

2/4/2011 12:17:00 PM
Description: The Broncos are unlikely going to bring back impending free agent DB Champ Bailey. SOURCE: DENVER POST
Insight: There was a multi-year deal in the works during the regular season, but the team pulled it off the table. The Broncos are likely going to go younger at corner, which leaves the 33-year-old Bailey looking for work elsewhere. He still played at a high level in 2010, so he should have no problem finding a new home.
