Description: Seattle second baseman Robinson Cano has collected two hits in his last 21 at-bats.
Insight: One of them was his first home run of the season. He's hitting .254 after going 0-for-3 Saturday, and the M's have lost seven of their last eight games, but we aren't worried about the star second baseman.

4/19/2014 10:49:00 AM
Description: Seattle second baseman Robinson Cano has a career .545 batting average with two homers against Miami right-hander Henderson Alvarez.
Insight: Cano is batting .266 this season which is below expectations after hitting over .300 for the past five years. This matchup may help, but what would really help is some better protection in the lineup.

3/31/2014 2:53:00 PM
Description: Seattle second baseman Robinson Cano has dominated Jered Weaver throughout his career (.400 AVG in 30 at bats).
Insight: Weaver went 1-1 against the Mariners with a 3.29 ERA last season but that was while Cano was still playing for the Yankees. The Mariners don't have many other threats in their lineup so Weaver can probably afford to pitch around Cano on Monday night.

Insight: Cano is currently in his native Dominican Republic. He's had an excellent spring, hitting .609 over 23 at bats. This brief absence should have no effect on Cano's draft position in fantasy leagues.

12/6/2013 1:30:00 PM
Description: The Mariners and second baseman Robinson Cano have come to terms on a new 10-year, $240 million deal.
Insight: Cano is the crown jewel of this year's free agent class. He's a career .309 hitter with an .860 OPS. Cano won't have a great lineup around him but we're not concerned about it affecting his fantasy value. As far as second basemen go, he's the best there is.

12/3/2013 8:45:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN New York's Wallace Matthews, the Mariners have become a serious player for free agent second baseman Robinson Cano.
Insight: The Yankees and Cano haven't been seeing eye to eye in contract talks and at this point the odds of him returning to the Bronx are less than 50 percent. The M's are reportedly offering Cano an eight-year deal worth $200 million. The Yankees previously offered him seven years at $160 million. Cano's fantasy value could take a big hit if he left the hitter-friendly confines of Yankee Stadium to play at spacious Safeco Field in Seattle.

12/2/2013 8:39:00 PM
Description: The Yankees are taking a hard stance with second baseman Robinson Cano. According to Yahoo's Jeff Passan, they won't spend more than $200 million to keep him.
Insight: That spells trouble for Cano, who was hoping for at least a nine-year, $252 million deal. It will be interesting to see if other teams start getting involved now that Yankees GM Brian Cashman has drawn a line in the sand.

Description: The Yankees have offered free agent second baseman Robinson Cano a seven-year, $160 million deal. SOURCE: ESPN New York
Insight: Cano had been asking for almost twice that much so there's no way that's going to be enough to sign him. It's finally setting in that Cano may not be with the Yankees next season.

11/4/2013 2:03:00 PM
Description: Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is looking at Omar Infante among other second baseman in case they don't sign Robinson Cano to a long-term deal.
Insight: Would Yankees fans really accept him after the production they are used to from Cano? Cano hit .314, 27 HR, 107 RBI and 81 runs while Infante batted .318 with 10 HR, 51 RBI and 54 runs.

9/29/2013 1:06:00 PM
Description: New York second baseman Robinson Cano is sitting out the team's regular season finale Sunday against Houston.
Insight: It seems like a strange thing to say but it's possible Cano (.314, 27 HR, 107 RBI) has played his final game with the Yankees. The soon-to-be free agent is coveting an absurd $300 million for his next contract. David Adams is filling in at second base today at Minute Maid Park.

Insight: That simply won't happen. Cano is probably going to be the top free agent on the market this winter but no player is worth that amount of money, especially at age 30. He'll be lucky to get half of that.

9/15/2013 11:06:00 AM
Description: New York second baseman Robinson Cano has crushed Clay Buchholz in their previous meetings.
Insight: Cano is 12-for-29 (.414) with four doubles and a homer against Buchholz, who just returned from a three-month injury last week. Sunday could be a big day for Cano.

9/13/2013 10:24:00 PM
Description: New York second baseman Robinson Cano collected four hits in Friday night's loss to Boston.
Insight: Three of the hits went for extra bases including an RBI double that tied the game in the seventh inning. He's on the verge of his second consecutive 30-HR season.

Hot9/11/2013 10:46:00 PM
Description: Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano reached 100 RBI Wednesday night.
Insight: Cano went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI and is hitting .309 with 27 longballs. He had 33 homers last season but drove in just 94 runs and had to drive in 16 over his final 12 games to get there.

Hot9/9/2013 12:28:00 PM
Description: Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano is hitting .500 in 22 at-bats with a pair of homers and a 1.360 OPS against Orioles starter Chris Tillman.
Insight: Cano is batting .326 since the All-Star break, though with less power than in the first half (five homers vs. 21). This favorable matchup should help.

Hot9/8/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano is hitting .392 with four homers and a 1.035 OPS over his last 24 games.
Insight: Cano is just 14-for-62 (.226) with zero homers and 14 K against Boston starter Jon Lester, but fantasy owners should not even think about removing him from the lineup Sunday.

8/31/2013 5:15:00 PM
Description: Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano doubled, homered and drove in two runs Saturday against the Orioles.
Insight: Cano has hit .448 with three homers and 16 RBI over his last 18 games and will go into September with a .309 average, 25 homers, 89 RBI and a .903 OPS. He was hitting .304 with 27 homers, 70 RBI and a .911 OPS through August last year before going off for a .347 average, six homers, 24 RBI and a .999 OPS in September.

8/30/2013 4:05:00 PM
Description: Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano is back in the lineup Friday after missing Wednesday's game with a left hand contusion.
Insight: He's hitting third against the Orioles. The second baseman was hit by a pitch from J.A. Happ of the Blue Jays Tuesday and missed Wednesday's game.

8/30/2013 10:30:00 AM
Description: New York second baseman Robinson Cano wasn't in the lineup Wednesday versus the Blue Jays, but with a day off Thursday, is hoping to return on Friday for an important series against Baltimore.
Insight: Wednesday was Cano's first absence of the season. He's day-to-day with a bruised hand. He's put together another solid season (.305, 24 HR, 85 RBI, .891 OPS).

8/28/2013 7:11:00 PM
Description: New York second baseman Robinson Cano won't be in the lineup Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.
Insight: It's Cano's first absence of the season. He's day-to-day with a bruised hand. Utility man Mark Reynolds (.214, 17 HR, 53 RBI) will take over at second base.
