Description: Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers allowed two runs on two hits and struck out seven over seven innings Sunday against Pittsburgh.
Insight: In four starts since Fiers was summoned from the minors, he's been pretty close to unhittable. The right-hander has gone 4-0 and allowed just 10 hits and four runs while striking out 32 batters in 28 innings.

Hot8/19/2014 10:59:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers tossed a third straight gem Tuesday against Toronto.
Insight: Fiers allowed two hits and one run and struck out seven in seven innings. The right-hander has given up eight hits and two runs while putting together a 25/3 K/BB over 21 innings since he was summoned from the minors. He had terrific numbers in Triple-A and is a must-add in all leagues.

Hot8/14/2014 6:32:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers was sensational Thursday afternoon going six inning and yielding just three harmless hits while striking out 14 batters.
Insight: Fiers has recorded a 2.55 ERA and a 129/17 K/BB in 102 1/3 innings with Triple-A Nashville this season and has continues to pitch well in his two starts since being called up in August. He'd be a good add to any fantasy rotation.

8/5/2014 9:11:00 PM
Description: According to mlb.com, the Brewers could use Mike Fiers to replace Matt Garza (oblique) in the rotation.
Insight: Fiers has recorded a 2.55 ERA and a 129/17 K/BB in 102 1/3 innings with Triple-A Nashville this season. The 29-year-old had a 3.74 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and a 135/36 K/BB in 127 2/3 innings as a rookie in 2012 before getting bombed in 22 1/3 innings last season (7.25 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). Marco Estrada is the other option, but he's allowed 27 homers and 63 earned runs in 117 1/3 innings this season and manager Ron Roenicke said the team will need him in the bullpen the next few games.

8/2/2014 11:42:00 AM
Description: Brewers minor league starter Mike Fiers has a 2.62 ERA and a 122/17 K/BB in 96 1/3 innings with Triple-A Nashville this season.
Insight: Fiers has pitched well enough to get a call up from most teams, but a solid Milwaukee rotation keeps him stuck at Triple-A. He'll likely get called up in September, but work out of the bullpen and have little to no fantasy value this season.

5/8/2014 2:47:00 PM
Description: Brewers minor league starter Mike Fiers has a 1.86 ERA and a 51/5 K/BB in 38 2/3 innings with Triple-A Nashville this season.
Insight: Fiers had a 3.74 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 135/36 K/BB in 127 2/3 innings as a 27-year-old rookie in 2012 but imploded early in 2013 (7.25 ERA, 1.52 WHIP in 22 1/3) before breaking his right forearm. He appears to be back on track in the PCL.

6/16/2013 11:52:00 AM
Description: Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers broke his right forearm after being hit by a comebacker Saturday with Triple-A Nashville. He'll miss 9-12 weeks, according to Mike Vasallo, Milwaukee's director of media relations.
Insight: As a 27-year-old rookie last season, Fiers started off 6-4 with a 1.80 ERA and an 80/16 K/BB in 80 innings, but he went 3-6 with a 6.99 ERA and a 55/20 K/BB in his final 47 2/3 innings. The Brewers weren't commited to Fiers as the No. 5 starter coming out of spring training and he was removed from the rotation after getting shelled by Arizona on April 6. He's 1-4 with a 7.25 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP in 22 1/3 innings at the big league level this season.

4/20/2013 10:39:00 PM
Description: The Brewers demoted Mike Fiers to the minors this week and called up Hiram Burgos.
Insight: Fiers has made just one start this season, a six-run stinker on April 6 against Arizona, after finishing poorly last season and having a terrible spring. Fantasy owners can get rid of him.

4/16/2013 9:29:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers is not guaranteed to start Friday. SOURCE: Brewers.com
Insight: Fiers has made just one start this season, a six-run stinker on April 6 against Arizona. The team could call up Tyler Thornburg or Hiram Burgos to start Friday instead. Fiers had a poor finish to last season and a terrible spring, and probably wouldn't be in the rotation if Chris Narveson was healthy.

4/6/2013 10:55:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee starter Mike Fiers continued to struggle after a disappointing spring in his first start of the season Saturday. He gave up six runs on nine hits in five innings and struck out just one. Fiers allowed two homers in the game and gave up a number of long flyball outs that could have been troublesome.
Insight: Fiers was a surprise last season with a 3.74 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 127 2/3 innings, but he wore down in September and a poor spring almost cost him a rotation spot. If Chris Narveson didn't need to build his arm up following surgery, Fiers would already be in the bullpen.

3/29/2013 8:58:00 PM
Description: Updating an earlier report, Mike Fiers will serve as Milwaukee's fifth starter, according to MLB.com. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported earlier Friday that he would move to the bullpen.
Insight: Fiers was a surprise last season with a 3.74 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 127 2/3 innings, but he wore down in September and had a poor spring. The team will go with Chris Narveson in a long relief role to start the season.

3/29/2013 7:23:00 PM
Description: The Brewers have demoted Mike Fiers to the bullpen and will go with Wily Peralta as the fifth starter.
Insight: Fiers was a surprise last season with a 3.74 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 127 2/3 innings, but he wore down in September and had a poor spring. The signing of Kyle Lohse allowed Milwaukee to use Fiers in long relief.

Cold9/20/2012 9:47:00 PM
Description: Brewers starters Michael Fiers is averaging just around four innings per start over his last four turns.
Insight: Fiers started off 6-4 with a 1.80 ERA this season, but he hasn't been nearly as good since mid-August. In his last eight starts, Fiers is 3-4 with a 6.75 ERA.

Cold8/21/2012 9:12:00 PM
Description: Brewers starters Michael Fiers and Mark Rogers will continue to pitch for now but both could be shut down before the end of the season to protect their arms, according the the team's official website.
Insight: Fiers is having a much better season so he's the guy we're concerned about. The 27-year-old already has thrown 142 innings this season between Triple-A and the Brewers after tossing 128 innings all of last year. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said both pitchers will "go for a while" and "in two to three weeks, we'll look at this again and see where we are."

Cold8/18/2012 10:28:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Michael Fiers has allowed 12 earned runs in his last two starts (7 IP, 14 H, 4 BB, 6 K)
Insight: Fiers had a 1.80 ERA and was looking like an ace for Milwaukee, but he has collapsed in his last two starts. His hot start earned him a long leash, but you might want to sit him his next start to see if he has things figured out.

Hot8/7/2012 10:59:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Michael Fiers took a perfect game into the seventh inning Tuesday against the Reds and finished with one run allowed on three hits.
Insight: Fiers has pitched like an ace in 13 appearances (12 starts), going 6-4 with a 1.80 ERA and an 80/16 K/BB in 80 innings. He should be owned in all formats.

Hot7/16/2012 11:53:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Michael Fiers has forced fantasy owners to look his way since he joined Milwaukee's rotation in late May. In eight starts and one relief appearance, Fiers has allowed just 12 runs in 53 2/3 innings, including seven scoreless Monday against St. Louis.
Insight: Fiers should be added in most formats, as he's registered a 2.01 ERA and a 54/13 K/BB ratio this season.

6/24/2012 6:29:00 PM
Description: Brewers right-hander Michael Fiers tossed seven shutout innings Sunday against the White Sox. Fiers scattered five hits and walked one while striking out seven in a no decision.
Insight: Fiers has thrown seven innings and allowed one run or less in three of his five starts the season. Like Jose Quintana of the White Sox, he doesn't walk many batters so he has some upside in deeper leagues.
