( - The Texas Rangers try to avoid their 10th straight road loss on Saturday when they continue a three-game interleague set with the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Texas fell for the sixth straight time overall on Friday, as Travis d'Arnaud's two-run double in the bottom of the eighth carrie the Mets to a 6-5 win.

Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer, while Eric Campbell went 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored for the Mets, who snapped a four-game slide.

Jon Niese left after retiring only one batter with a lower-back contusion. Four relievers combined to keep the hosts in the contest, with Jenrry Mejia (5-3) recording the final four outs for the win.

"It's big for us," said d'Arnaud. "Especially to start the homestand."

Elvis Andrus collected three hits and scored once, while Shin-Soo Choo and Adrian Beltre homered for the Rangers, who are in the midst of their worst road slide since dropping 12 in a row from May 30-June 19, 2003.

Aaron Poreda (2-1) was charged with the deciding run.

Getting the call for the Mets on Saturday will be veteran right-hander Bartolo Colon, who is 8-6 with a 3.88 ERA. Colon lost for the first time in nine starts on Sunday in Pittsburgh, as the Pirates battered him for five runs and seven hits in six innings.

Colon, who had pitched into the eighth inning in his previous two starts, surrendered more than two earned runs in a start for the first time in seven starts. It was his first loss since May 6.

"When you put those kinds of swings on it, he was putting the ball in the middle of the plate," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "He hasn't been hit that hard in a long time."

Colon has had tremendous success over the course of his xx-year career against the Rangers, going 20-8 with a 3.47 ERA.

Texas, meanwhile, will pin its hopes on righty Colby Lewis, who is 5-5 wtih a 5.71 ERA. Lewis did not get a decision on Sunday against Minnesota, but pitched well, giving up just two runs and five hits in six innings. He also struck out eight without walking a batter in his team's 3-2 loss.

It was the first time this season he has pitched at least six innings in consecutive starts.

Lewis is 0-1 in three outings (1 start) versus the Mets and has allowed nine runs in just 5 2/3 innings of work against them (14.29 ERA).

New York took two of three from the Rangers in that series and have won seven of 10 from them overall.
