National League Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, April 12th (All times Eastern)

Los Angeles Dodgers (7-4) at Arizona Diamondbacks (4-9), 8:10 p.m.

Probable Starting Pitchers: Los Angeles - Zack Greinke (2-0, 3.27) Arizona - Wade Miley (2-1, 4.05)

(SportsNetwork.com) - Right-hander Zack Greinke aims for his first 3-0 start in five years when the Los Angeles Dodgers head back to Chase Field for the middle test of a three-game weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Greinke was solid in three starts against the Diamondbacks in 2013, posting a 1.80 earned run average overall and winning both starts in Arizona, where he allowed eight hits and two runs in 13 innings. Before last season, he'd been hit to the tune of an 8.71 ERA in four starts there and had lost both decisions.

He's given up just eight hits in 11 innings to begin his 2014 season, including a six-inning stint with eight strikeouts in a 6-2 defeat of San Francisco on Sunday.

The Diamondbacks go with lefty Wade Miley, who beat Colorado on Sunday in his last start.

Miley's second win of 2014 came after he gave up two runs in eight innings of a 5-3 triumph. He'd opened his season on March 22 against the Dodgers and was beaten, 3-1, after allowing three hits in five innings.

Arizona is hitting a meager .156 as a team against the Dodgers in three games this season, all losses.

On Friday, Adrian Gonzalez drove in five runs and Hyun-Jin Ryu combined with Jamey Wright on a two-hit shutout, as the Dodgers downed Arizona, 6-0.

Gonzalez launched a two-run homer in the first, stroked a two-run single in the third and added a run-scoring single in the eighth to provide more than enough support for Ryu (2-1), who struck out eight over seven stellar innings of two-hit, one-walk ball. With Ryu at 99 pitches through seven frames, Wright took over on the mound and struck out the side in the eighth before working around a leadoff walk in the ninth to nail down the Dodgers' third win in four tries.

Hanley Ramirez registered three hits, three runs scored and an RBI for Los Angeles, which returned to Chase Field for the first time since celebrating their 2013 NL West crown by jumping into the pool in right-center field.

Arizona starter Brandon McCarthy (0-2) surrendered all six runs on 10 hits and a walk over seven innings.

Miguel Montero collected the Diamondbacks' only two hits in the setback.

Los Angeles, of course, swept the Diamondbacks in the season-opening two-game set in Australia. The D'backs, though, were 10-9 in the series a year ago.
