Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Rios had two hits, drove in a pair and scored a run as the Texas Rangers held off the Miami Marlins, 5-4, to earn a split of a two-game interleague set on Wednesday afternoon. Nick Martinez (3-9) started for the Rangers and picked up the win in his hometown, surrendering just two runs on six hits in six innings. With his family in the stands, the right-hander struck out seven and walked two to win for the second time in three decisions. Leonys Martin added three hits and drove in a run for the Rangers, who improved to just 6-12 in the month of August. Adrian Beltre chipped in with two hits and scored a run for Texas, which won for only the 15th time in 57 games since June 14. Marcel Ozuna had three hits, including a solo homer, and drove in a run for the Marlins, who ended a nine-game homestand with a 6-3 mark.

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chase Utley singled home the go-ahead run in the fourth and the Philadelphia Phillies held on to beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in the rubber match of a three-game set. Wil Nieves finished 3- for-4 with a double and a run scored and Jimmy Rollins scored twice as the Phillies picked up their first-ever series win against the Mariners. Cole Hamels (7-6) got the win for his five innings of work. He surrendered three runs and gave up nine hits while striking out four. Kendrys Morales hit a solo homer and Logan Morrison hit an RBI double for the Mariners, who have dropped three of five on the heels of a five-game winning streak. James Paxton (3-1) suffered his first big league loss after allowing four runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and two walks.

Final Score: Toronto 9, Milwaukee 5

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Bautista hit a three-run home run and Colby Rasmus added a two-run blast as the Toronto Blue Jays topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-5, in the finale of a two-game interleague set. Jose Reyes added three hits, scored twice and drove in one for the Blue Jays, while Melky Cabrera posted a pair of hits, an RBI and crossed home twice. Edwin Encarnacion and Munenori Kawasaki also drove in a run each as Toronto earned a split. R.A. Dickey (10-12) gave up five runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings, but held on long enough for the win. Carlos Gomez slugged a two-run shot and scored twice for the Brewers, whose five-game win streak came to a halt. Ryan Braun, Mark Reynolds and Jean Segura added an RBI apiece in defeat. Jimmy Nelson (2-4) also worked 5 2/3 frames, but allowed nine runs and four hits in the loss.

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Lucas Duda hit a three-run homer as the New York Mets roughed up Oakland's Jeff Samardzija in an 8-5 win at O.co Coliseum. Curtis Granderson, Daniel Murphy and Eric Campbell each had two hits and one RBI for the Mets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Zack Wheeler (9-8) won his sixth straight decision after allowing four runs -- two earned -- on four hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings. Samardzija (3-3) was victimized for seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings. Oakland snapped its season-high five-game losing streak in Tuesday's opener of this two-game interleague set.
