Korea repeats at Women's World Am Antalya, Turkey (Sports Network) - Korea needed just a 2-under 142 on Sunday to retain the title at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship. Korea finished the tournament at 13-under 563 at Gloria Golf Club. The Koreans became the first repeat winner since the United States won back-to-back titles in 1988 and 1990. Only two scores count for the team's round and for the second straight day it was Hyo-Joo Kim (72) and Kyu-Jung Baek (70) that registered the best for Korea. Min-Sun Kim stumbled to a 2-over 74. Germany rallied with a 7-under 137 on Sunday to grab second place at minus-10. Finland (137) and Australia (140) shared third place at 9-under-par 567. New Zealand, which was in second place entering the final round, managed 2-under 142 and tied Spain (140) for fifth at 8-under par. Canada shot 142 for the third consecutive round and took seventh at minus-7, while the United States carded a 142 of its own to end alone in eighth place at 6-under par. 09/30 10:36:53 ET |
