Lee leads by 1 on Ontario

Morrisburg, ON (Sports Network) - Lucas Lee fired a 6-under 66 in the second round Friday to grab a 1-stroke lead with play suspended for the night due to darkness at The Great Waterway Classic.

Lee, who led after the first round when he completed his 65 earlier Friday, ended 36 holes at 13-under-par 131.

Ryan Blaum (66) and Sean Shahi (65) share second place at minus-12. Joe Panzeri posted a 66 of his own to end two rounds at 11-under-par 133.

There was a 3 1/2 hour weather delay on Thursday, then play was called for the day later on when inclement weather moved back in at Upper Canada Golf Course.

Lee, a five-time runner-up on the PGA Tour Canada, started on the back nine in round two and posted birdies at the 11th and 12th. After a pair of pars, Lee moved to 10-under with a birdie on the 15th.

Around the turn, Lee kept rolling with birdies at two and three. He moved to 14-under with back-to-back birdies at five and six.

Lee stumbled down the stretch, though. He wrapped bogeys at the seventh and ninth around a birdie on the eighth.

Shahi had a bogey-free round with three birdies on his opening nine and four more around the turn.

Blaum started on the back nine and had two birdies there, before carding four more on the front nine.

NOTES: The second round will resume at 7:30 a.m. ET with third round tee times running from approximately noon - 2 p.m. ... The cut line is projected to be 2-under par.
