NCAA Game Summary - Kansas at Iowa State

Final Score: Iowa State 13, Kansas 10

Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Jared Barnett pushed the Cyclones to victory with 175 passing yards and 125 yards on the ground as Iowa State outlasted Kansas 13-10 in Big 12 play at Jack Trice Stadium.

Iowa State (5-4, 2-4 Big 12) also received a solid contribution from Jeff Woody as he rushed for 62 yards on nine carries. Jake Knott led the Cyclones' defense with 10 tackles.

Kansas (2-7, 0-6) has now lost seven straight contests. The Kansas offensive unit was managed by Jordan Webb who completed 13-of-21 passes for 127 yards. Darrian Miller led the Jayhawks in rushing with 70 yards on 17 carries. Brad McDougald anchored the defense with 11 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.

Iowa State opened up scoring with 5:23 remaining in the first quarter with a 32-yard field goal courtesy of Zach Guyer. With just over two minutes remaining in the period, Kansas took a 7-3 lead as D.J. Beshears ran 22 yards for a touchdown.

The Cyclones took back control with 4:45 left in the half when Aaron Horne dashed 18 yards for a touchdown to give the home team a 10-7 advantage as the game approached half time.

Kansas evened the score at the 5:49 mark of the third quarter when Ron Doherty connected on a 19-yard field goal.

Guyer put the Cyclones up 13-10 when he made a go ahead 42-yard field goal with 4:30 left in the contest.

Iowa State then ran out the clock after forcing a Kansas three-and-out.

The Cyclones amassed 426 yards of total offense to the Jayhawks' 301. Kansas still remains winless in conference play.
