San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Robbie Rouse rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 33-18 triumph over the San Jose State Spartans in Western Athletic Conference action.

The only points of the first quarter came on a 43-yard field goal by Fresno State's Kevin Goessling.

Defense dominated the second quarter as well, but the Bulldogs did manage to push their advantage to 10-0 by intermission with a four-yard touchdown run by Rouse.

After a 44-yard Goessling field goal and a 43-yard touchdown pass from Isaiah Burse to Rashad Evans in the third quarter, Fresno State held a comfortable 20-0 advantage.

San Jose State finally got on the board with 5:36 left in the third frame, as Harrison Waid nailed a 41-yard field goal.

Fresno State answered right back, as Rouse reached the end zone on a six-yard run to improve his team's stronghold to 27-3.

Le Secla tossed two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, a 46-yarder to Kyle Nunn and a 63-yarder to Noel Grigsby. Still, Fresno State never lost its double-digit lead, as Goessling hit two more field goals in the final frame from 37 and 29 yards out.

Fresno State was able to limit San Jose State to 12 net rushing yards on 21 attempts, an obvious key to victory.
