NCAA Game Summary - Hawaii at Fresno State

Final Score: Hawaii 49, Fresno State 27

Fresno, CA (Sports Network) - Bryant Moniz threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns, as the Hawaii Warriors raced past the Fresno State Bulldogs, 49-27, in a Western Athletic Conference showdown at Bulldog Stadium.

Moniz completed 29-of-49 pass attempts with one interception for Hawaii (4-2, 2-0 WAC), which won its third game in a row. Greg Salas hauled in nine balls for 149 yards and three scores, while Alex Green ran for 96 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries.

Ryan Colburn had a rough game under center for Fresno State (3-2, 1-1), completing just 19-of-37 tosses for 258 yards with one touchdown against three interceptions. He also had a rushing touchdown.

The lone score of the opening quarter came from Salas, who pulled in a 30-yard pass from Moniz.

The Bulldogs took the lead in the second quarter with a 39-yard field goal by Kevin Goessling and a 50-yard touchdown pass from Colburn and Jalen Saunders.

Salas and Moniz, though, gave Hawaii a 14-10 edge just before the half, combining on an eight-yard scoring strike.

Early in the third quarter, Salas recovered a fumble in the end zone for his third score of the night.

Green then went 38 yards on the ground for a score, pushing the Warriors' advantage to 28-10 midway through the third period.

Goessling then connected on a 31-yard field goal for Fresno State.

Hawaii responded late in the third quarter with a 14-yard touchdown run by Green, but the Bulldogs also had an answer with a nine-yard scamper from Colburn.

With just under four minutes left, Green put things away with a two-yard run. Hawaii then received a 48-yard interception return from Jeramy Bryant for a 49-20 lead.

Michael Harris capped the scoring on a two-yard run for Fresno State.
