After a scoreless first quarter, the Red Wolves found the scoreboard early in the second stanza thanks to a 24-yard field goal by Bobby Zalud.

Florida Atlantic took over less than two minutes later, as VanCamp connected with Rob Housler for a 29-yard scoring strike.

Aplin's one-yard touchdown run put ASU back on top midway through the second frame, but a missed extra point by Zalud left the score at 9-7.

The lone touchdown in the third period was an 80-yard touchdown pass from VanCamp to Lester Jean, which put the Owls on top by a 13-9 margin.

FAU added a 36-yard field goal by Ross Gornall in the opening minute of the final quarter, but from that point on the Red Wolves were in control.
