NCAA Game Summary - Boston College at Syracuse

(Saturday, November 27th)

Final Score: Boston College 16, Syracuse 7

Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Freshman Andre Williams finished with a program-record 42 carries for 185 yards and one touchdown to power the Boston College Eagles to a 16-7 victory over the Syracuse Orange in a non-conference clash.

Chase Rettig threw for 110 yards with no touchdowns and one interception for Boston College (7-5), which extended its winning streak to five games.

Antwon Bailey ran for 72 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in the disappointing loss for Syracuse (7-5).

The only points of the first quarter came on a 27-yard field goal by Nate Freese of Boston College, and he added a 29-yarder in the second quarter to enable the Eagles to carry a 6-0 advantage into intermission.

Syracuse took a 7-6 edge with just under 10 minutes to play in the third quarter when Bailey ran five yards for a score. Unfortunately for the Orange, that score marked the team's only points of the afternoon.

The Eagles regained the lead five minutes later on a one-yard touchdown plunge by Williams.

Freese added a 22-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter to bring the score to its final of 16-7.

Boston College finished with a 315-238 advantage in total yardage.
