NCAA Game Summary - Fresno State at Hawaii

Final Score: Fresno State 42, Hawaii 17

Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Ryan Matthews ran for 149 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 42-17 victory over the Hawaii Warriors in Western Athletic Conference play.

Robbie Rouse posted 73 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just six carries for Fresno State (2-3, 1-1 WAC).

Bryant Moniz threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns in defeat for Hawaii (2-3, 0-2), but he attempted 52 passes and averaged just 5.4 yards per completion.

This game was never close, as Fresno State scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters, while Hawaii managed only one field and no touchdowns over the first 45 minutes.

In the first quarter, Fresno State got a three-yard touchdown run by Lonyae Miller and a 19-yard scoring scamper from Ryan Matthews.

Ryan Colburn threw a pair of 17-yard touchdown passes in the second quarter to Devon Wylie and Chastin West. In between those scores, Hawaii's Scott Enos had a 33-yard field goal, and Fresno State led 28-3 at intermission.

In the third quarter, the Bulldogs got a pair of touchdown runs covering 34 and 16 yards, respectively, from Robbie Rouse.

Hawaii got a pair of touchdown passes from Moniz in the fourth quarter to cut its deficit to 42-17, but those scores didn't affect the final outcome.
