NCAA Game Summary - Buffalo at Kent State

Kent, OH (Sports Network) - A.J. Principe connected on three field goals, including the game-winning kick with just five seconds remaining in regulation to lead the Buffalo Bulls to a 9-6 victory over the Kent State Golden Flashes in Mid-American Conference play at Dix Stadium.

Brandon Thermilus paced Buffalo (5-7, 3-5 MAC) on the ground with 123 rushing yards on 4.2 yards per carry.

As for the Golden Flashes (5-7, 4-4), they were led by Dri Archer on the ground, as he rushed for 93 yards on 10 totes.

The only scoring in the first half was a 24-yard field goal by Principe late in the second quarter.

The Golden Flashes finally got on the scoreboard in the final seconds of the third quarter when Freddy Cortez nailed a 39-yard field goal for KSU.

The Bulls went back ahead midway through the fourth quarter when Principe connected on a 24-yard field goal.

However, less than two minutes later KSU responded with a 26-yard field goal by Cortez.

In the battle of kickers, it was Principe who finished on top, as Buffalo's kicker nailed a 22-yard field goal in the final seconds of regulation to give the Bulls a 9-6 victory.

Buffalo finished with 320 total yards in the contest, while Kent State posted just 159 total yards.
