Tyler Hansen was 18-for-38 throwing the ball for Colorado for 258 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Buffaloes (3-7, 2-4) from being eliminated from bowl consideration.

Colorado, which is winless in five road starts this season, was just 2-of- 14 on third-down conversions.

Arnaud hooked up with Marquis Hamilton on an eight-yard touchdown pass to give Iowa State a 7-0 lead with 7:36 left in the first quarter.

Colorado's Aric Goodman and Iowa State's Grant Mahoney traded second-quarter field goals of 22 and 25 yards, respectively, to put the Cyclones up 10-3 at halftime.

Arnaud's hookup with Robinson gave the Cyclones a two-touchdown advantage.

Colorado made it a one-touchdown game when Hansen hit Markques Sims with a 36- yard scoring pass with 3:17 left in the game.
