Cornish capped off Calgary's next series with a four-yard TD run and the team added a single later in the quarter.
The Montreal offense began to show signs of life in the second quarter, and Calvillo put the visitors on the board by hitting Brian Bratton for a 37-yard scoring strike.
Cornish scored from three yards out to put the Stampeders up 25-7. The touchdown came two plays after an unnecessary roughness penalty gave Calgary a fresh set of downs.
