GAME NOTES: The Fairfield Stags will try and string a pair of wins together for the first time all season as they travel to face the Siena Saints in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Times Union Center.

Fairfield finally stopped the bleeding of a five-game losing streak with a victory over Monmouth on Friday, 60-56. It was Fairfield's first win since Jan. 18. The Stags are in the basement of the MAAC this season with a 2-11 conference record - nine and a half games behind Iona for the conference lead.

Siena has lost two games in a row, including a 66-53 defeat at the hands of Saint Peter's on Friday. The Saints are 6-7 in conference play this season, five and a half games out of the MAAC lead.

Siena holds a slim all-time series lead against Fairfield, 32-29. The Stags, however, have won five of the last seven meetings. The Saints took a 64-56 decision earlier this year.

Monmouth held a one-point advantage as the Hawks and Stags broke for the locker rooms, but Fairfield came roaring back in the second half to earn the four-point victory. Marcus Gilbert and K.J. Rose each tallied 15 points and seven rebounds for the Stags. Maurice Barrow added 11 points, and Amadou Sidibe grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Fairfield shot 39.6 percent from the floor in the win.

Gilbert and Barrow are the two go-to scorers for Fairfield this season. Gilbert leads the team with a 13.5 ppg average, while Barrow isn't too far behind at 12.8 ppg. Rose leads the team with 76 assists on the year, and Sibide tops the squad with 6.3 rpg. The Stags are averaging 61.2 ppg through 24 games played.

The first half was a struggle for Siena offensively against Saint Peter's on Friday. The Saints connected on just 8-of-22 from the floor in the frame, and missed both 3-point attempts as they trailed at the first buzzer, 26-22. The Peacocks only increased their lead in the second half of play. Ryan Oliver topped Siena with 15 points, while Brett Bisping chipped in 11 with eight rebounds and Lavon Long added 10 points. Siena shot 38.6 percent from the floor in the game.

Rob Poole, who didn't score a single point in the loss to Saint Peter's, still leads the team with the best scoring average this season. Poole is netting an even 15 ppg, with a team high-tying 5.7 rpg average. He's tied with Bisping at 5.7 rpg, who checks in at second in team scoring with 9.7 ppg on 55.1 percent shooting. Marquis Wright leads the Saints with 132 assists on the year and 44 total steals.

The Saints may have lost the last two games they've played, but Fairfield, despite the win Friday, is severely struggling to score enough points to sustain wins. The Stags haven't won back-to-back games all season long, and this time likely won't be any different.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Siena 67, Fairfield 59
