Clarksville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Travis Betran scored 20 points and Will Triggs recorded a double-double as the Austin Peay Governors earned an 83-69 victory over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in an Ohio Valley Conference conflict at the Dunn Center.

Triggs finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Austin Peay (9-12, 3-4 OVC), which put the brakes on a four-game losing streak. Damarius Smith added 18 points and Chris Horton had 12 points and came a rebound shy of his own double-double.

Jeremiah Samarrippas paced Tennessee Tech (10-12, 3-4) with 17 points and seven assists. Jordan Johnson tallied 14 points, Dwan Caldwell finished with 13 and Dennis Ogbe chipped in 11 as the Golden Eagles lost their third straight.

Austin Peay led 36-31 at halftime. The Governors shot 63.2 percent from the floor in the opening frame, including a 5-of-9 effort from beyond the arc. Tennessee Tech turned in a 35.7 percent shooting performance, but had nine more field goal attempts.

The Governors closed out the contest by shooting 72.2 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes.

Austin Peay had a 25-10 scoring edge off of turnovers, despite committing four more than Tennessee Tech (18-14).
