NCAA Game Summary - Tulane at Old Dominion

Final Score: Old Dominion 70, Tulane 64

Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Bacote scored 16 points to lead the Old Dominion Monarchs over the Tulane Green Wave, 70-64, in a Conference USA matchup at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

For the Monarchs (10-10, 4-1 C-USA), Dimitri Batten added 15 points, Keenan Palmore finished with 14 points and Richard Ross chipped in with 10 points.

Jonathan Stark led all scorers with 21 points for the Green Wave (11-10, 3-3), while Louis Dabney scored 17 and Jay Hook netted 14.

ODU shot 50 percent from the field in the opening stanza, as the Monarchs went into the break leading 32-25. They did struggle from deep, making only 1-of-7 from 3-point range. Tulane was woeful from the field in the first half, hitting on only 29.2 percent of its shots and 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.

After intermission, the Monarchs continued to shoot the ball well, hitting on 47.8 percent of their tries, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range. The Green Wave picked up the pace, connecting on 48 percent from the field and 6-of-14 from deep. A 12-4 run early in the half for the Monarchs gave them a cushion and they never let the Green Wave get closer than six the rest of the way.

ODU outscored Tulane in the paint, 36-24. The Monarchs also forced 17 turnovers and converted them into 21 points.
