Huskies unanimous No. 1 again
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Connecticut remains the undisputed top women's college basketball team in the latest Associated Press poll.
The Huskies (15-0) continued to receive all 36 first-place votes and 900 points from a national media panel.
Notre Dame, Duke, Stanford, Louisville, Maryland, Baylor, Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina rounded out the Top 10. Louisville, Maryland and Baylor each climbed two spots, while Tennessee and Kentucky both dropped three places.
The second 10 consists of Iowa State, LSU, North Carolina, Penn State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Colorado, Florida State, California and North Carolina State, which is one of three newcomers in the poll.
Purdue, Indiana, Arizona State, San Diego and Georgia are the last five teams ranked. Indiana is ranked for the first time in 21 years, while San Diego is making its maiden appearance in the poll.
