Bulls' Rose limps off, has right knee examined
Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose showed glimpses of his former MVP self on Friday against the Blazers.
Unfortunately for Bulls fans, he also showed he's still not 100-percent healthy.
Late in the third quarter, Rose went backdoor looking for a bounce pass from Joakim Noah. The pass was picked off by Nicolas Batum and Rose stepped awkwardly trying to recover, his right knee slightly hyperextending.
He appeared in pain as he limped to the sideline and was checked by team trainers on the bench for several minutes before being taken to the locker room.
At the time of the injury, Rose had tied his season-high with 20 points and added five rebounds and three assists.
Of course, Rose is trying to work his way back to form after missing all of last season following surgery on a torn ACL in his left knee. He was averaging 15.4 points and 4.4 assists per game coming in but was shooting just 36 percent from the floor.
