(Saturday, November 16)

Final Score: Kansas State 33, TCU 31

Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Waters threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, as the Kansas State Wildcats made claim to a thrilling 33-31 triumph over the TCU Horned Frogs in a Big 12 Conference showdown at Snyder Stadium.

Despite his impressive final numbers, Waters was largely inefficient for Kansas State (6-4, 4-3 Big 12), completing just 10-of-24 passes with an interception. Waters' top target was Tyler Lockett, who caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Sams paced the rushing attack with 109 yards and a score on 19 carries.

For TCU (4-7, 2-6), Casey Pachall was 23-of-33 for 248 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while Trevor Boykin also saw time under center, completing his only pass for a one-yard score while rushing for 17 yards and a touchdown. B.J. Catalon carried the ball 12 times for 71 yards and scored a second-quarter touchdown.

Kansas State ran out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on an 11-yard touchdown run by Sams and a 74-yard scoring strike from Waters to Lockett.

TCU cut its deficit in half at the 5:06 mark of the second quarter on a 15- yard touchdown run by Catalon, although the Wildcats went into intermission with a 17-7 lead following a Jack Cantele 31-yard field goal in the waning seconds of the second quarter.

The Horned Frogs came storming back to take a 21-17 lead early in the third quarter. First, Boykin hooked up with Josh Doctson on a one-yard touchdown, then Boykin rushed in a seven-yard score less than four minutes later.

Kansas State went back head on its next possession, as Waters completed another long touchdown pass, this time a 79-yarder to Tramaine Thompson.

The quick strikes continued just over a minute later, as the Horned Frogs regained the advantage, 28-24, on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Pachall to David Porter.

The Wildcats inched to within one late in the third on a 34-yard field goal by Cantele. Kansas State's kicker also knocked through a 23-yarder with 5:59 left to play to give it a 30-28 lead, but TCU responded with 2:13 left when Oberkrom drilled a 56-yarder to put the Horned Frogs back in front by one.

On Kansas State's final drive, it drove 44 yards in nine plays before Cantele made the game-winning 41-yard field goal with just three seconds remaining.

Kansas State, which gained 411 yards of offense, made claim to the win despite scoring a touchdown on just 1-of-4 red zone drives.
