Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyrone Wallace led the way with 16 points as the California Golden Bears made easy work of the Denver Pioneers, 77-50, at Haas Pavilion.

Wallace shot 5-of-10 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line for Cal (2-0), which also got double-digit scoring performance from David Kravish (15 points) and Justin Cobbs (10 points, six assists). Richard Solomon was active in the paint with nine points, 16 rebounds and two blocks.

For Denver (0-1), which shot just 34.8 percent from the field in its season opener, Cam Griffin poured in 15 points and Marcus Byrd netted 10 points.

Cal started the game red-hot, shooting just shy of 60 percent from the field in the first half, and with Denver shooting a lowly 20.8 percent in the opening stanza, the Golden Bears took a 35-18 lead into intermission.

The Pioneers improved to 50 percent field goal efficiency after the break, but the outcome was never in question, as Cal drained 11-of-12 from the free-throw line in the second half and led by as many as 30.

The Golden Bears outscored the Pioneers in the paint, 52-16, and scored 20 points off of 14 Denver turnovers.
