Kent, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Javon McCrea registered a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds to lift the Buffalo Bulls to a 78-69 decision over the Kent State Golden Flashes in Mid-American Conference action at the MAC Center.

Will Regan added 15 points for Buffalo (16-8, 10-4 MAC) as it notched its fifth win in six games. Justin Moss provided a spark off the bench with 12 points, while Jarod Oldham dealt out eight assists.

For the Golden Flashes (15-12, 6-8), Kris Brewer netted 16 points. Kellon Thomas had 13 points, Devareaux Manley scored 11 points and Derek Jackson finished with 10 points. Chris Ortiz led KSU on the boards with seven rebounds.

The Golden Flashes connected on 43.3 percent of their field goal attempts, but converted just 2-of-6 shots at the free-throw line in the opening period. Buffalo sank 13-of-15 attempts at the charity stripe in the first half to take a 33-32 lead into the intermission.

The Bulls heated up to drain 48.1 percent of their shots from the floor after the break. Although KSU also hit on 48.1 percent of its field goal tries, it was outscored, 15-6, at the free-throw line in the second half.

Buffalo finished with 32 points in the paint compared to 20 by the Golden Flashes. The Bulls also enjoyed a 39-28 edge in total rebounds.
