Niagara, NY (Sports Network) - Antoine Mason and T.J. Cline scored 14 points apiece to lead the Niagara Purple Eagles to a 78-61 win over the Saint Peter's Peacocks at the Gallagher Center, clinching the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season title in the process.
Juan'ya Green and Marvin Jordan netted 12 points each for Niagara, (18-12, 13-5 MAAC), with Green also dishing out nine assists. The Purple Eagles head into the postseason having won four of their last five.
For Saint Peter's (9-20, 3-15), Yvon Raymond paced all scorers with 17 points, while Darius Conley poured in 12 points.
Niagara took a 32-28 lead into intermission. It shot 48 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, while Saint Peter's was right on its heels at 47.8 percent.
The Purple Eagles took control of the game after halftime, improving their field goal efficiency to 57.7 percent while leading by as many as 27.
Niagara recorded assists on 21 of its 27 field goals and committed only eight turnovers on the afternoon.
