Insight: Weeks is expected to play outfield as well as second base, something he balked at for Milwaukee. he hit .274 with eight homers, 29 RBI and an .809 OPS in 252 at-bats last season. He's hit as many as 29 HR in a season and could be a fill-in fantasy option.

Description: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks hit 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs in the loss to the Reds on Thursday.
Insight: Unfortunately for Weeks, he also committed two errors in the field which contributed to two Reds runs. It was a fitting end to the Brewers slide out of first place and then playoff contention this month. Weeks is hitting .272 with eight home runs, 36 runs and 28 RBI in 246 at-bats this year.

Description: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks is a career 14-for-27 (.519) with two homers and eight RBI versus Reds right-hander Homer Bailey.
Insight: Weeks doesn't get much work these days with Scooter Gennett getting most of the starts at second base, but this matchup should be worthy of a start. If he's in the lineup, consider putting him in your lineup. Update: Sorry, Weeks is not in the starting lineup.

Description: Milwaukee second baseman Rickie Weeks felt a "pop" in his hamstring Wednesday against the Giants. SOURCE: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Insight: Weeks suffered the injury while running out a grounder in the eighth inning. The Brewers are calling his injury a strained hamstring but we think it could be more serious than that. Either way, we'd be shocked if Weeks is able to avoid the disabled list.

8/4/2013 1:56:00 PM
Description: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks is not in Sunday's lineup versus Washington.
Insight: The low-average hitting Weeks (.215, 10 HR, 24 RBI, 7 SB) needs to get going if he is to put up 20 homers for a fifth consecutive season. He is 3-for-8 in the first two games of the series with the Nats.

Insight: The low-average hitting Weeks (.217, 10 HR, 22 RBI, 7 SB) needs to get going if he is to put up 20 homers for a fifth consecutive season. He's also just 2-for-21 since the All-Star break so he needs this favorable matchup to hopefully get him started.

7/14/2013 12:15:00 PM
Description: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks is hitting just .193 (11-for-57) with 17 strikeouts over his last 17 games, and he's just 3-for-18 (.167) with four strikeouts against Diamondbacks starter Ian Kennedy.
Insight: Weeks looked to be breaking out of his season-long slump when he hit .444 with five homers and a 1.399 OPS in 15 games from June 2-26, but he has slipped back into it over the past few weeks. Combine that with his matchup Sunday against Kennedy, and fantasy owners should not have Weeks in the lineup.

7/10/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks is a career .556 hitter (5-for-9) with a pair of home runs and four extra base hits against Reds starter Mike Leake.
Insight: Weeks, a lifetime .250 hitter, is 3-for-7 in the first two games of the series. When you find a favorable matchup like this, you have to jump on it because it happens so rarely.
