MLB Game Summary - Houston at Washington
(Friday, March 7th)
Final Score: Washington 8, Houston 5
Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryce Harper and Wilson Ramos each belted home runs during a six-run first inning that carried the Washington Nationals to an 8-5 win over the Houston Astros at Space Coast Stadium.
Harper cracked a two-run shot and Ramos had a three-run blast that capped the opening-inning outburst. Both homers came off Brett Oberholtzer, who was tagged for six runs -- five earned -- and five hits over the first two frames.
Both Wilson and Adam LaRoche finished 2-for-3 for Washington, with Zach Walters contributing a two-run single to the triumph.
Nationals right-hander Doug Fister was scheduled to start Friday's game, but was scratched because of right elbow inflammation. Fister started feeling tightness in the elbow after his start against the Marlins on Sunday.
Fister had an MRI taken Thursday and it revealed the inflammation. He will rest a few days in hopes that the soreness will go away.
Marc Krauss went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored to pace Houston offensively. Carlos Corporan added a two-run double in the loss.
