Muschamp gets extension at Florida
Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Gators have extended the contract of head football coach Will Muschamp for one year, through the 2016 season.
Muschamp was working on a five-year, $13.75 million package.
"Coach Muschamp's original contract was for five years with an option year. The UAA exercised that option year in January and he now has five years remaining on his current contract," Florida spokesman Steve McClain said in a statement.
Florida is coming off a 7-6 season, which included a 24-17 win over Ohio State in the Gator Bowl.
