Texas led by as many as eight points late in the game but UCLA used an 11-0 run to take a three point lead with less than a minute remaining. Jonathan Holmes hit a tough shot to cut the deficit to one with six seconds left. Muhammad then made just one of two free throw attempts, leaving the Longhorns with a chance to win the game or send it to overtime, but Holmes' 3-point attempt missed at the buzzer and the Bruins survived.
