Description: Rangers backup goaltender Martin Biron will start Saturday at St. Louis.
Insight: Starter Henrik Lundqvist has allowed 10 goals in 89 minutes his last two starts and is 1-3-0 with a 4.30 GAA and an .879 SV% this season. He's obviously in no danger of losing his job, but he'll get a night off Saturday to clear his head.

Description: Rangers backup goaltender Martin Biron will start between the pipes Saturday against the Canadiens.
Insight: Biron has started just twice this month behind workhorse Henrik Lundqvist. He's gone 1-0-1 with a .928 SV% in his three appearances this season.

Description: The Rangers will give Henrik Lundqvist a rest Thursday as Martin Biron will start in net against the Islanders.
Insight: Biron rarely starts in place of the workhorse Lundqvist. He won his only start this season with 30 saves on 32 chances against Tampa Bay on Feb. 2.

Description: Martin Biron stopped all 23 shots he faced in the Rangers' 3-0 win over Winnipeg on Sunday. NHL.com
Insight: Biron was rewarded with another start against the Jets because he allowed just one goal on 28 shots against the Jets back on October 24. Don't be surprised to see Biron start against Winnipeg the next time the two teams play, although he won't likely start more than once a week with Henrik Lundqvist in the picture.

Description: Martin Biron will be sidelined indefinitely with a broken clavicle bone. ESPN New York
Insight: Biron's clavicle bone was broken during Monday's practice. The Rangers have recalled Cam Talbot from the AHL to be Henrik Lundqvist's backup, since it was perhaps a little too late for them to acquire a goalie at the trade deadline.

2/8/2011 12:02:00 AM
Description: Biron made his second straight start in place of Henrik Lundqvist, but his 32 saves weren't enough in a 3-2 defeat Monday night.
Insight: Coach John Tortorella said he had "no idea" which goalie would start the next game. Lundqvist has allowed three goals or more in four of his past five outings, while Biron sports a GAA (2.13) and save rate (.923) that stand slightly better than Lundqvist's still-strong numbers for the season. 1/25/2011 7:04:00 PM
Description: Biron allowed just one goal in a shootout victory over Washington on Monday.
Insight: It was the second time in three games that Biron yielded just one goal. He saved 22 shots. (RapidDraft.com)

11/23/2010 11:04:00 AM
Description: Biron made 31 saves in a 2-1 victory over the Flames on Monday.
Insight: Biron made his second straight start and improved to 5-2 with a 2.15 GAA on the year. (RapidDraft.com)

11/15/2010 8:04:00 AM
Description: Biron made 19 saves in a 8-2 win over the Oilers on Sunday.
Insight: Biron won his second straight start as he is now 3-2 with a 2.21 GAA in five starts this year. (RapidDraft.com)

11/7/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Despite allowing just one goal against St. Louis on Sunday, Biron suffered his second straight loss.
Insight: Biron yielded five goals his last time out, but the other two games have both included just a single goal allowed. (RapidDraft.com)

10/28/2010 8:03:00 AM
Description: Biron made only 20 saves in a 6-4 loss to the Thrashers on Wednedsay.
Insight: Biron allowed five goals in the loss as he fell to 1-1 with a 3.02 GAA. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Rangers coach John Tortorella said that Martin Biron would play one game this week. Bergen Record
Insight: The Rangers play three games in four nights this week, so Henrik Lundqvist should receive a night off. Tortorella did not say which game Biron would play, however.
