Kelly, Rask stay with Bruins
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins have signed center Chris Kelly to a four-year contract and goaltender Tuukka Rask to a one-year deal.
Kelly had a career-high 20 goals and 39 points in all 82 regular-season games for the Bruins last season. He added one goal and two assists in seven playoff contests.
The 31-year-old Kelly was acquired by Boston from the Ottawa Senators on February 15, 2011. He has played in 106 games for the Bruins, recording 22 goals and 22 assists.
In 569 career NHL games with Ottawa and Boston, Kelly has registered 97 goals, 123 assists and 296 penalty minutes. In 68 playoff games, he has 10 goals and 19 assists.
Rask went 11-8-3 in 23 games last season with a .929 save percentage and a 2.05 goals against average as a backup to Tim Thomas, who announced his plans to sit out next season via his Facebook page last month.
Over five NHL seasons, Rask holds a 47-35-11 record with a .926 save percentage and a 2.20 GAA in 102 games, all with the Bruins.
Rask's deal is worth $3.5 million, while Kelly will earn $12 million.
Boston also signed forward Alexander Khokhlachev to an entry-level contract.
