Notes:
Named the Defensive Lineman of the Year by the Big Ten coaches, Gholston also made it onto the AP's All-America Second Team as a junior this past season...Considered by most to be the second-best defensive end in the draft behind only Chris Long of Virginia, Gholston had the luxury of having the top defender in the nation behind him in LB James Laurinaitis at Ohio State...Gholston was a distant eighth on the tackles list this past season for the Buckeyes with 37 stops, but of those, 15.5 came behind the line of scrimmage and he ranked among the nation's leaders with 14 sacks...Played a major part on a unit that was among the nation's best with a mere 233 ypg allowed over the course of 13 games...Recruited as a linebacker, Gholston was named a Second Team All-Big Ten performer as a sophomore in 2006 when he started all 13 games and led all OSU linemen with 49 tackles and was credited with 15 TFLs and 7.5 sacks...Forced to redshirt in 2005 due to a broken left hand, delaying his inevitable impact on the unit...Gholston is quick off the ball and uses both power and speed to get around blockers, but his ability to drop back into coverage is still in question after spending so much time honing his craft on the line.
