Description: Panthers HC John Fox wouldn't commit to QB Brian St. Pierre being the team's starter for Week Twelve if rookie QB Jimmy Clausen (concussion) isn't ready.
Insight: St. Pierre did himself no favors after throwing back-to-back pick-sixes against the Ravens. Looks like the Panthers might be trying out some quarterbacks this week. We wouldn't be shocked if someone new started against the Browns.

Insight: This speaks volumes as to how bad Pike must have looked in practice, especially since St. Pierre has been a Panther for only a few days. The Ravens Defense is a must-start No. 1 option this week.

Description: Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette reports Panthers' head coach John Fox named St. Pierre, not rookie Tony Pike, the team's Week 11 starter.
Insight: The Ravens' defense makes for an excellent fantasy play this week, no matter who is under center for Carolina. (

Description: The Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers have promoted St. Pierre from their practice squad.
Insight: This may be a sign that rookie Tony Pike will make his first NFL start on Sunday against Baltimore with Jimmmy Clausen (concussion) likely out. (

Description: The Patriots reportedly tried out free agent QB Brian St. Pierre late in the week.
Insight: The Pats may not be a bad landing point for him as he would only be battling equally untested Brian Hoyer to back up Tom Brady. He still has no fantasy value, though. (

Description: Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports, via Twitter, that the Cardinals are expected to re-sign St. Pierre next week.
Insight: If the Cardinals to bring St. Pierre back, that makes it even more unlikely they would pursue Marc Bulger. (

Description: Updating a previous item, acccording to the Arizona Republic St. Pierre will not need back surgery
Insight: Apparently the issue was deemed to be muscular. St. Pierre is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, but the Cardinals may look for a more proven backup QB in the event Kurt Warner announces his retirement. (

Description: The Arizona Republic reports St. Pierre, who is scheduled to become a free agent, may need back surgery this offseason.
Insight: If Kurt Warner retires and Matt Leinart takes over as the Cardinals' starting QB, the team would likely be in the market for a veteran No. 2 quarterback. St. Pierre could fit the bill, but the team may want someone with more playing experience. (
